Cosco Baby Products – Offering Convenience, Comfort and ValueCosco’s slogan is, “Providing convenience, comfort and value for growing families”. And that’s what they’ve done ever since they started the company in 1935. Cosco Baby Products entered the babies product market from a different direction than most other baby product companies. It’s hard to believe, with their first product being a metal box to hold wooden matches, that they’d progress into juvenile products. But that’s exactly what they did! Cosco began making metal productsCosco Baby Products started out as a specialty company. In fact, their name was derived from Columbus Specialty Company. Building on their first metal matchbox product, they introduced a metal stool and then a metal high chair. That high chair was introduced towards the end of the 1940s, and it was the beginning of a whole line of successful juvenile products. By 1960, Cosco had made its mark in the metal furniture industry. Four years later, it introduced the Toilette™ toilet trainer, which made its own mark in the babies product industry. And you can still buy this great product today. As the years went by, Cosco continued to research and develop baby products that would make parents’ and babies’ lives simpler, safer, and more convenient. For example, in 1982, they introduced the first child restraint system approved for use on a plane, the Safe-T-Seat™. And when you get the approval of the FAA, you’re doing very well because their regulations and requirements are very stringent. So Cosco’s beginning in metal products progressed very strategically into a new direction – the production of a whole line of juvenile and babies products. And this line was met with applause all across America. For example, in 1998, their High Back Booster became a number one seller in the United States. Dorel recognizes a winnerWhile this success was developing, another company, Dorel Industries Inc., had been keeping an eye on Cosco Baby Products. Dorel had its own line of juvenile products, and they felt that Cosco would be a very profitable addition to their own line. Dorel made other products, too, like home and office furniture, metal folding chairs, tables, and a variety of other home furniture. They also made step stools, an item that Cosco had been very successful with. So it was a natural progression for Dorel to acquire Cosco and add their line of fine products to their own. They did this in 1988. And they carried on Cosco’s reputation that had been built since 1935 – a maker of quality metal furniture and accessories, and a leader in the juvenile products industry. Cosco’s juvenile products set the paceCosco takes a very intelligent approach to their baby products. They categorize them into three major compartments – type, need and setting. The type refers to the type of product, whether it be beds and cribs, car seats, playards, strollers or even diaper pails. The need is the kind of activity where you would use the product, like sleeping, traveling, playing, changing or walking. And all these activities involved some semblance of safety. The third category that Cosco Baby Product used to develop their baby products was setting, including any area where you might need to include one of their products to make your life more convenient. These areas included the nursery, other general living areas in the home, and anywhere you might travel, both local or long distance. So when you base your research and development on every single aspect of a mother and baby’s life, you just can’t go wrong. And Cosco hasn’t!
Cosco Baby Product thought of moreCosco’s babies and juvenile products are specifically designed to grow with the child. For example, when your baby is ready to move out of their crib into a larger bed, the experience can be intimidating – both for the baby and the parent. The baby is used to the comfortable confines of the baby crib, and the parent is used to the confidence that the baby’s safe and secure. So that move can be a big deal – except when you use the Cosco Nod-A-Way Toddler Bed. This bed will give your infant a comfortable transition from the crib, with its sleigh-bed design and comforting bed rails. And it’ll make the budgetary transition easier for the parents, too, because it uses crib-size mattress and bedding. And you can use it for a child 2½ to 5 years old, as long as their weight is under 50 pounds. The perfect bed for growing infants! If there are some parents who are still nervous about making that change from the crib to the bed, then Cosco has two 2 in 1 convertible cribs to choose from. One side comes out, the mattress drops down, and – voila – you have an infant bed. That should make everybody concerned safe and comfortable. So now you have an idea of the innovation and versatility shown in Cosco’s juvenile products. And here’s another example – the Cosco Spirit Travel System. If ever there was a car seat/stroller travel system with spirit, then this is it! One of the great advantages of this travel system is the one-hand fold and stand feature. What more could a parent want in convenient benefits? It’s only too well known that a parent always needs an extra hand, so every little bit helps – and the Spirit Travel System helps a lot! Another great feature offered by Cosco’s Travel System is the snack tray, with a juice box or cup holder. And the parents aren’t left out, either – there’s a tray on the handle, too, with two cup holders, one for each parent. Again, it’s obvious that Cosco has thought of more. Cosco provides it allThere’s no questioning Cosco’s claim to fame, their slogan – “Providing convenience, comfort and value for growing families”. Cosco’s baby and juvenile products have always focused on the best of the best for parents and babies, not only in convenience, comfort and value, but also in safety. So they’ve pretty well covered the whole field. If you want to find out more about Cosco’s great line of products, then go online and check out their varied and versatile selection. If you compare their products to other brand names, you’ll find that they’ve done their job – they’ve created a line of products that’ll please every growing family!
